t is my pleasure to write a few words for the book titled ‘Legal Stories of Life’ authored by Barrister Omar H. Khan, a practicing lawyer at the Supreme Court of Bangladesh. He has been a regular contributor to The Daily Star. Ever since the launch of the ‘Law and Our Rights’ section of the newspaper, he has been an effective communicator of the legal framework and our rights and obligations. His weekly column‘Your Advocate’ has helped our readers in many ways. It is indeed in our good fortune to have with us a contributor like Barrister Omar H. Khan who has helped to create a general awareness about legal issues.
The law page was launched to create awareness among all the citizens about their fundamental rights and duties within the constitutional framework of our country and also increase their general knowledge about our legal system and various laws.
I believe this book will benefit the common people of our country who are often deprived of legal support owing to financial constraints. Barrister Omar’s lucidly written legal advice and their explanations are sure to make the readers understand complex legal issues better. I congratulate the author for this publication and wish that this back is a great success.
